I got a picture for you!

I opened one of the finished invites to get a picture for you guys :)

After all that hard work (even though they look simple!) here it is!

They are all printed out inside ready for the wedding, one job down....just a million to go! lol

Since the last post we also got to see 'Safe House'

Another awesome film. LURVE Denzel Washington in this!

Just because I'm a horror fan doesn't mean to say I hate action films, as long as it has a good story line then I'm hooked, and this was no exception.
Denzel plays the role of a wanted CIA rogue agent, and with Ryan Reynolds playing a CIA rookie who has to look after him it makes a great pairing for a great story line.
Usually I don't pay to see something like this at the cinema, I only go for any good horrors, or maybe the odd 'big' film like Avatar and Pixar's but if I HAD paid to see this, I would have been happy :)

9/10 from moi!

Now onto the cakes. Ive made quite a few since (which I cant show you yet till I do my first wedding fair on the 1st April!)
But I'll just post a few of the birthday ones Ive been working on:

The customer wanted Mickey Mouse for her son, so I came up with a few designs, including this very colourful one which was the final design.

I find Disney characters very hard to replicate! But here is Mickey:

And one that has just left the house...A Gruffalo Cake

Ive made a single tier Gruffalo cake, but I really do love to get my hands on a theme like this in multiple tiers. Anything bright, fun and detailed I love to put on 2 tiers or more.

I jumped in with both feet right at the last minute with this cake. I was going to put bushes and plants around the bottom tier, until I glanced at the book again and realised on every page were lots of trees. I wasn't sure what it was going to look like, but I bit the bullet and started sticking on tree trunks....too late to go back now! Luckily I was glad with how it came out lol

Hope the twins have a fab birthday!

Today I'm working on parts of Kai's cake, yeah...it's his birthday again soon! I blogged about his last birthday which means my blog is now over one year old! wow that's gone fast!
He's 6 this time, its crazy :S I have an almost 6 year old!

He still has toys in his room still wrapped in the cellophane since Xmas. He just has TOO many. So instead of buying him even more, we got him tickets for Blackpool Circus, and there's also the Jungle Jims (no I haven't spelt that wrong...that's what its called LOL) That will be sometime in April though when the Circus is running.

So for his actual birthday we will most likely let him choose what he wants for tea, and we have got him a Nerf gun to open. (think Abbi will have the raw end of this deal, and when I get my hands on it, Adam will have a raw rear-end...) :D

I got him to write me a list of programmes, or films or themes he would like his cake to be. Seriously I have never seen a list like it. You've been Framed, The Biggest Loser, The Exit List...and wait for it......ITV News.
Yes really.

So after I showed him my wall of cake orders and pointed out that Cain's mummy got a Mickey Mouse cake because that's what he likes, and the Twins mummy got a Gruffalo cake because they liked the Gruffalo, he had another think about what ELSE he liked watching on TV. Hes a huge fan of game shows, and to be fair if that's what he wants then he can have it, but I just wanted to make sure he had his head screwed on right when I asked him the first time LOL

Luckily he came back with another list, and he has even decided on a theme for his 7th Birthday cake! His 6th Birthday cake theme is even something I love so I was super excited about that....and if he sticks to the theme for his 7th birthday, I cant wait to start that one either!

Sooo I'm going to be pretty busy with cake dummies, the wedding fair, birthday cake orders and more wedding planning over the next month, but I promise to drop in on my blog again before then :)

Can you feel the love?

Yeah, a few days late for a Valentines Day post but hey ;)

Did everyone get goodies? Get spoiled by the other half?...or are you single and hate Valentines Day?...cheer up Pancake Day is on the way!! lol

I started the day with a little red bag waiting for me downstairs, a lovely card,a bag of mini eggs and a DS game inside. He knows me so well! I don't need flowers and cuddly toys (not unless the cuddly toy is horror related, or something like Nightmare Before Xmas etc lol) give me some chocolate eggs and a video game any day!

But before I go any further I should point out that any time Adam tries to surprise me, he manages to get something wrong. He either lets slip about a surprise (through not thinking before he speaks), leaves something lying around in plain sight (like receipts!), doesn't cover his tracks very well  or just plain gets something wrong ha ha He knows himself he never succeeds in a plan, and this Valentines Day was no exception.
Don't get me wrong, he hid them and kept them a secret to a score of 10/10, But what he bought me was a 3DS game........and I don't own a 3DS ha ha.

Knowing what reaction I'd get I text him at work and told him I didn't own a 3DS grinning as it sent. I was right! What followed was an abundance of swear words. Pahaha....failed again Mr R!
But that's what makes him even more lovable, hes such a goon :D
I'm just glad he hasn't tried pulling a major surprise like a trip to America. If he was left in control I would have found the 'surprise' tickets left on the windowsill, opened a suitcase to find nothing but a pair of pants and a t-shirt, and end up spending a night with a drunken Mexican under a row of airport seats due to him forgetting the passports.

So whilst he was at work I put the plan into motion for a handmade card, cupcakes etc.
If its the 'thought that counts' then that's what I was going to do, I handmade lots of daft little things for him to use when he got home.

I made a card that looked like a 3 year old had done it...using paper cupcake cases as 'flowers' LOL, a paper 'fortune teller' you know....those things you used to make in school!

As he wrote in my card 'save me an egg!' (meaning the mini eggs he bought me) I added them to a little bowl so we could share, a fizzy vimto in a fancy wine glass, 4 cupcakes with dolly mixture toppings, and finally his tea.
Its the simple things :) like drinking fizzy vimto from a wine glass....

now the special part of the 'tea' was a heart shaped egg:

I had great delight in telling Adam that I bought this very special egg for £4, and had it delivered from Devon where they have special chickens that lay heart shaped eggs.
I managed to keep a straight face throughout when actually I just wanted to burst out laughing.
Instead of 'don't be ridiculous, heart shaped eggs indeed....how did you do it?'
I got 'You paid £4 for an egg?!'
PMSL
In shock that he had been sucked into the story I continued  'I cant believe you just ate the egg without commenting that it was a heart shaped...I paid £4 for the bloody thing and you scoffed it!'

I'm still giggling now....that he actually believes there are hens that can pop out heart shaped eggs, and has no doubt already told his work colleagues I spent £4 on a 'special egg'. I could of told him that farmers modified the hens hoo-haa into a heart shape to make it possible and he would have still believed me. lol
This is what relationships are about....pure total fun 100% of the time. Even if its just me having the fun :) lol

But how DID I get a heart shaped egg? It certainly wasn't from a modified chicken from Devon I can tell you that for free :)

Stinking out my fridge with a boiled egg was totally worth it.

I might make these heart shaped burgers next year...

....and tell him I got them imported from Africa where they tie wooden posts to young calves to make a dent for the heart shape. Pahaha

Awww I love that goon ;)

Here is the little table I had set out for him, I even lit 2 candles...get me Miss Romantic LOL

Check out those heart shaped eggs....got them from Devon don't you know?!

:D

In the envelope was a note telling him to get his coat on because we were off to the flicks! We do love a good cinema trip.
I had seen trailers for 'The Woman in Black' and thought it looked pretty good. After a few comments on Facebook that it was 'sad' I thought maybe it would be a good option as no-one had mentioned it was scary. Again...to any new comers Adam HATES horrors/ghosties/slashers...basically anything that I think is awesome!
We got our tickets and of course the mandatory popcorn and took our seats. It was BUSY!
The film started and within the first 15 minutes I realised it wasn't an 'Adam' film, this was going to be far too scary for him and was hoping he wasn't going to leave a brown present for the popcorn clean-up crew.

I sat there pretty much glued as the story unfolded (I love a good story line!) Adam was doing his best 'looking sideways but pretending to look at the screen' movements and almost bruised my leg through squeezing it at one point. BUT hats off to him, he wasn't as bad as one guy who actually shouted out loud during one scene. For those of you who have seen it, you will probably know which part I'm referring to when I say 'rocking chair face'. What made me laugh, (still 5 minutes after it happened) was the fact he didn't shout 'aaaaahhh' ...but rather ' WERRRRRRRR' . The whole cinema laughed out loud at him, the poor weed, and the ultimate insult?...that Adam the coward was even laughing at him.

Now I haven't seen many Harry Potter films all the way through (maybe two of them?) shock horror gasp! But I know the films are big enough to know that Daniel Radcliffe IS Harry Potter, and when a character is that big, the actor who plays him is going to have a hard time convincing the world otherwise. He can't be seen as anyone other than Mr Potter. WRONG! I was blown away by him in the Woman in Black, I have a new found love for Daniel Radcliffe (not in that way guys... lol) but as an actor. I knew obviously he would have to be good to get the lead for all those films, but this opened my eyes. He did an amazing job and I thoroughly enjoyed the film.

The ONLY critique I have (not that it matters what I think!) is that I would have concluded some parts of the back up story better, after leaving the cinema I was pining to know abit more back story of why and how. BUT its certainly one to watch at the cinema....easy 9/10 from me :) Go see it!

On the way home it was clear the film had given Adam the willies but he enjoyed it! I just have to train him not to wretch at gory films, squeeze all the blood out of my knee, 'pretend to watch the screen when something scary is happening when really his eyes are on the left over popcorn on the floor in the corner', lay in bed afterwards thinking of all the things he saw that might come and get him in the night, and he MAY just make a good horror film buddy, none of my other ones seem to be around these days!

Soooo that was my Valentines Day. Wouldn't have it any other way!

Though I'm now going into hiding....Adam is about to find out that heart shaped eggs don't come from chickens, and I have a feeling I'll be typing my next post with broken legs.

Pray for me :) xxx

Finally getting round to it

Hello my little cupcakes!

Ive recovered from the last post and raring to go, and its about time I caught up with a post that is overdue.

I'm talking about the awesome little gift I received in the post quite a while ago, remember Paul? I blogged a picture of a TINY little Freddy Krueger glove in progress that the very talented Paul was making for me.
Well it arrived! and its just pure awesomeness :D

For those of you who don't hang around much through my posts or have just found me 'hello! *waves*' This little Krueger glove will feature somewhere in the wedding. You should know by now my wedding shoes are Elm Street themed (I have to get my love of horror in SOMEWHERE for my big day!) but the trouble is I only have tiny size 3 pixie feet and 'normal' court shoes wont keep my feet in. I have to have some sort of fastening, elastic, or buckle across the front.....SO that means I have to modify my wedding shoes. I'm hoping to just put some elastic across, but that's just very plain so after searching for months for something Freddy related to cover up my boring elastic I found Paul who had made a 'micro' glove. I fell in love :)
Its the cutest smallest glove EVER and would be a great addition to my shoes! He took on the challenge of trying to make it a little smaller, and believe me...he pulled it off. Just see for yourself!

But just how tiny is it?...........

Yes! Isn't it fantastic! the tiny blades, the tiny back-plate, its just a piece of pure craftsmanship!

When it arrived I was handling it like a newborn baby, it looks delicate, SO delicate in fact that I'm now worried about putting it on my shoes only because I'd be devastated to break it. Your feet are the most move-able parts LOL they walk, kick, run, dance, abuse the groom and I'm scared they will come to harm. I'm going to do a test run though and if I feel its too delicate I WILL find somewhere else to feature it in the wedding....I just have to! Its too ace to leave out :)

Thank-you Paul Fortune. I LOVE it x

More stuff on the wedding front, I have FINISHED the invites! Yay!
From rounding corners, cutting rectangles, ovals, hearts, elephants, hand placing dangly charms, sticking ribbon, printing and envelope licking they are DONE. I would show you but we sealed all of them without taking pictures Duhhh, but I'll sort a picture out for you guys soon :)

Ive set the ball rolling for a new make-up artist. The lovely Jodie who is highly recommended by my very talented photographer lady Miss Lisa Aldersley. I'm really looking forward to the trial run so I can get an idea of how I want things to be, I cant say anymore than that because Adam is my blog stalker....sssshhhhhhhh!

And Ive also kicked myself up the backside and lost a little bit of weight. I used to be 8 and a half stone (which I will never see again!) but my aim was for under 9 stone, something Ive been struggling with for a while! BUT ........*drumroll*......I'm 2lbs under 9 stone yay! *happy dancing*
Now the task is just trying to keep it off, and the KFC I had the other day isn't exactly going to help me do that. The graaaaavy.......the GRAAAAVY!

Did I also mention we now have the grooms shoes too?
What a fiasco that was.
We spotted some perfect ones which Adam liked the look of, so we went all the way to the Trafford Centre to get them. But what happened when we got home?.......2 left feet. Yes....two left feet in the box.

I mean seriously? who last tried them on...a leper?! When I rang them up they said they were very short on size 9's and they could very well be the last pair. Great. I had visions of us getting married, turning to walk back down the aisle and him walking like he had a cork shoved up his backside, or worse...walking like Louis Spense.

Luckily the lady rang back and found the LAST pair of size 9's and they were being sent to us.
Here they are :)

Ha ha...Yeah these are the GROOMS shoes. The Riddler. And do you know whats even better than the fact hes wearing something comfy, non traditional and something he likes? They actually fit our colour scheme yayuh!
Want to know something even COOLER about these shoes?....the question marks glow in the dark....they freakin glow in the dark! Can just imagine them shining out on the dancefloor ;) he he.

*sigh* I'm SO glad we didn't go down the top hat and tails, formal dinner and 'cookie cutter' wedding route. Planning this is MUCH more fun, and much more us.

I get carried away with fun wedding ideas though. Adam doesn't have many interests (*foghorn* BOOOO RIIIIING) ha ha only joking ;) But he DOES like theme parks etc, and I love all things theme park/fairground myself. So when I heard about North West Funfair hire I got slightly over excited. Since the beginning of planning the wedding and seeing my fabulous (did I mention she is amazing?) photographers picture of a bride on a carousel, Ive longed to have one. How fab would that be? Though I do have the small factor of getting married in a zoo with no room for one *whispers* but that didn't stop me entering a competition to win a funfair ride hire hee hee

I hope this one doesn't come with added chavs though...

All its missing is a bride in a wedding dress :)
Want to see what else they offer? Check them out here: North West Fun Fair

OO I may just have to hunt down a fun fair now and go on some rides!

Happy Wednesday Everyone, will be back soon! xx

Its February!

Sorry for the most boring and 'state the obvious' title of a blog post ever, but my brain won't function, I have glasses of Pimms at the side of me that I'm making my way through and for the first time in months my head is getting a little fuuuuzzzy :S mehehehe *hick*

I was supposed to write a blog post about Britains Got Talent, we went to see the auditions in Manchester. But all the blurry images I took are stuck on Adams phone and what is a 'Spilling My Brains' blog post without pictures?! That's like..salt without pepper, fish without chips and me without cake!. We were told cameras would be confiscated so didn't bother taking mine - only to find out they WERE allowed at the beginning of the show, just not during! The boobs :(

We saw Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alicia Dixon, David Walliams and of course....Ant and Dec! You are in for a treat in April when the show airs on ITV....there were some right nutters auditioning, but some crackers too :) and the panel are MUCH funnier than shown on screen!

Aww that's a whole chunk of writing with no pictures yet! :( That will not do....here's what cakes Ive been making since Ed the Skull.

Another Peppa cake but this time its a muddy picnic :)

A christening cake for a lovely little toddler who wears red glasses!

Gears of War 3 themed cake with birthday boys avatar!

My first Moshi Monster cake! Katsuma :)

Waybuloo sure is popular :) Heres Nok Tok

Kiss in Concert Cake! This one was very popular on my facebook page, they must all be rockers ;) x

And one last cake which was collected today:

Jake and the Neverland Pirates Cake.

Phew!

Even though its a new month and the dreaded January is now behind me.....we still have no toaster, the TV is still broke, and the curtain pole is STILL hanging off the wall . But I have my Pimms, and I don't care  :D

*hick*

Tonight Ive been knocking up a few designs for my new website hopefully launching in March! The amazing Phillippa is in charge of turning my designs into something decent looking, and I cant wait, but I'll keep you posted on that ;)

Oh my word, I cant get through this post, I think its time to put the drink down. We are currently 'snowed in' slightly where we are, so I may just have popcorn for breakfast tomorrow to accompany my banging heading I'm sure to get.

ahhhhhhh *hick*, That's it....Ive had enough, can't type anymore.
Mehehehe see ya later guys :) x
