amazing mine!

Woo-hoo! We have now finally 'officially' booked and paid a deposit for our amazing wedding photographer....Lisa Aldersley, shes just so amazing! And whats even better she sounds just as excited as us about photographing our wedding! She called me a 'mad bride'...which I'd thought I'd take as a compliment haha
Looking forward to meeting up with her again soon when the weather is warmer for a trip to the Zoo :)

Also this week Ive been mega busy with the cakes, first I had a batch of cupcakes to make for Gareth's 30th birthday, they were going overseas to Ireland on the ferry - with 2 hungry dogs. Hopefully they made it to the other side intact and not just crumbs, cream and dog drool :)

Then I had 3 to do for today, I finished a girly pink 16th birthday cake first, her Dad didn't really know what she was into (apart from pink!) and we were short on time so I just made a girly pink cake with a cupcake plaque, polka dots and strawberries.

Second came the crown green bowling cake, I was struggling picturing how the mans body would look when bowling - where his arms and legs would be etc. So I had Adam, in his pyjamas pretending to bowl in the kitchen for me ha ha.
The customer liked it so lets hope the birthday boy did, Happy 80th Birthday Claire's Grandad!

And lastly a very special Christening cake for a little Biliary Atresia Princess.
Her proud mummy wanted something special, girly and different for her, so  we have a very pink, fluffy, glittery, pretty 2 tier cake topped with a carousel style pony. Underneath that she had cupcakes topped with hot pink bows, and pink Biliary Atresia ribbons. Her Christening is today so have a wonderful day girlies!

Thats all the cakes for this week! Now onto more wedding things :)

Well I lightly touched on the subject of my wedding shoes in a previous post, and now that I've taken a gamble, I'll tell you all about them!
As we are getting married in the Zoo (well in Oakfield Manor) we have opted to have a safari round a few of the exhibits when its closed to the public, and I'll have been wearing heels for the ceremony and afternoon tea etc so wanted something a little more 'comfy'. I'm abit of a rock fan at heart with a love for horror movies, and 80's films over rom-coms anyday. I was originally going to wear some nice comfy purple Converse, but found these by Ed Hardy instead which are much more up my street with skulls on the sides!

At roughly RRP £80 I didnt really want to spend so much (trying to stick to the budget and all!) so I found these on Ebay for £20....but they only had these purple ones in 2.5 left (im a size 3) So for the price I took a gamble, in the hope they will fit! Still waiting for them to arrive and Im keeping my fingers crossed!

Now I just need to hunt down a nice pair of purple heels to get married in!

Afternoon everyone,
Been a very busy girl! First of all my Mum turned 60 last week, and we all got her, her very first passport! Luckily she seems to like it (even though she was shaking) and she's been to have her pictures taken for it. Soon I'll be able to send off for both their passports (mum and dads) and they can start booking their first holiday abroad together!

She also had a party on Saturday, and as always I was on hand with a birthday cake! Great night, kids fell asleep after chasing balloons and playing with party poppers, but by the time everyone had left and we had cleaned up it was 2am!! Haven't been out that late for years! ha ha

I also had another cake to make too, a Radley handbag. The customer was one of my old primary school teachers who was buying it for her daughter. I based it on the Radley design 'Aruba', here it is:

And my Mums 60th birthday cake:

And due to Facebook now changing their photo setting I can no longer post pictures on here from there....ANNOYING!
So if you would like to see details from these cakes you can do so by clicking this link:

Also this morning I received a letter stating I had won one of the competitions I had entered at the wedding fayre, Its a £50 off voucher for wedding rings.....the trouble is, the rings are probably going to be about £800 each any way ha ha. Adam said theres no harm in looking so we may take another trip to Blackpool to have a look soon.
That letter got delivered with a which I found my Elephant punch! I tested it this morning and cut two very cute little elephants out...they are just perfect :)

Whilst we are on the subject of weddings.....AGAIN :)
Me and Adam have been looking at the 5 songs required for the ceremony, We looked through loads of slow wedding appropriate songs, but then I thought why choose songs just because they are nice - they have no meaning to us - they aren't special! We want to personalize every part of our wedding, and that includes the music too!
So we decided to pick songs from some of our favourite films, or songs we both like/have meaning to us.
For walking in (one song), we have a choice of 3 so far, either the theme from Gremlins (one of my fav films), Beauty and the Beast Instrumental (my favourite Disney), or Willows Journey Begins from the film Willow (another old fav film!)

For signing the register we have to choose 3 - so far we have two!
This Lion King Instrumental (Adams all time fav Disney movie)

And a song from another of my fav old films...The Goonies!

We still have another to choose yet Adam likes Accidentally in Love from Shrek, and I like Dance Magic Dance from Labyrinth.
We also have a list of other favourite films (mainly 80's!) like:
Short Circuit
Dark Crystal
Nightmare before Christmas
Back to the Future
(lots of horrors including my fav Nightmare on Elm Street)
Flight of the Navigator
Toy Story
All Disneys and many other animated films!

Then one song to walk out to which is again from Adams favourite Disney film:

Just love this song.....and what a great motto to have for the rest of our married lives - that and it fits the theme of our wedding perfectly!  ha ha

And so it begins

The buying of wedding items, I just cant help myself I have to be organized!
Well the first item to drop through my letterbox were the VERY cute giraffe cufflinks, yes that wasn't a major typo, cufflinks....that are giraffes - for the Groom of course!

They are so much prettier in real-life, and the Groom loves them :)
Not only do I love them because they are so novelty, fit in with the theme, and are just the darned cutest zoo animals ever, but they were only about £9.00 delivered too! Awesome :)

I also purchased some elephant ones whilst I was there, just to compare, but still waiting for those to arrive. I just love my wedding theme!

But that wasn't the only thing I bought...o no, you cant just stop there, I bought an adorable Martha Stewart Double punch in 'Elephant' design, for my home-made wedding invites! I'm itching to go and buy all the stuff but still need to wait for the punch to arrive. How can you not fall in love with this little guy!? I have invite ideas floating round in my brain already.

Well just thought I'd let you know what I couldn't help buying! Also I showed Adam what I plan to wear on my feet for the wedding, he just laughed around the entire shop...but I'll save that for another post :)
Apologies for anyone who just comes on here for the cakes or the photography but I promise there will be some soon!
Time to start tea!

Animal Madness

Well hello Thursday! This week has just flown by, and I have had a cake free week (very rare!) Got lots to do, but what am I doing? Sitting at the laptop researching wedding things....its more fun :)

Anyhoo Im having a hard time choosing some wedding toppers for my cake, I originally wanted some white ceramic giraffes...but can I find any? can I hell! Well, I did, but I have to buy 1000 of them from China  :S

After lots more searching I found this incredibly cute couple by 'skunkboy creatures'

Just adorable!!

I wanted to stick with either giraffes or elephants but seeing this cute little Zebra melted my heart!

Very 'Tim Burton'...just super cute!! Reminds me of Edward Scissorhands :)

This elephant couple would have been perfect in white!

Also found these cute salt and pepper pots!! So you could even use them afterwards and have a permanent reminder of your your day!

These are also salt and pepper pots - very cute huggy elephants!! Shame about where the holes are though, cant really be hidden!

Its been fun but very stressful searching for wedding toppers!, I still havent decided on what to have, some are in America, some China, some are just downright untraceable! But I'm hoping to decide and find the perfect one soon!

What would you have?
